$200 Twitter Contest: 122 Characters Sent Back 2000 Years
More recently than ever, QuadsZilla’s blog posts at SEOBlackHat.com usually do 1 of several things, or all of the below:
- Lol
- Intrigue
- WTF
- Om nom nom (however, this hasn’t happened since his SEOktoberfest video from last year – which I’d link to, but I’m too lazy to find).
My monthly catch up with QuadsZilla’s latest blog posts has just come around – I had a good olé lol at his Corrected: Top 100 Site Traffic Breakdown and then I lol’d and found myself intrigued at his $200 Twitter Contest: 122 Characters Sent Back 2000 Years.
Basically, what Quads wants you to do is send out a tweet of 122 chacters to err… yeah, does exactly what it says on the tin. He of course wanted you to add a link in to the tweet too, hence the 122 and not 140 characters tweet.
My thoughts so far? Oh, he’ll be linking directly to his blog, or something else of value – but it simply goes to a Google search result page… Oh… wait… but while I’m typing this, I just realised I’m a complete retard. It doesn’t do that at all – it DOES go back to his blog page about this contest.
Now I’m thinking this was a social experiment in creating retards, because as stated by Quads,
“If we could transmit a single, 140 character message back to the year 2000, what should it be?
But I misread it as:
If you could send a single 140 character message back 2000 years, what should it be.”
So, all in all, this was a pointless blog post, which to be honest, shouldn’t see the light of day – but it’s just about to – especially as it has given me an idea. KAPOW!
Oh, but while I’m here, I might aswell upsell my new site coming soon; difn.co.uk… no, not explaining what it is, but it was inspired from when I read this from Quads, many years ago… well, a few. (Probably the single most important piece of info I have ever read and acted upon). FTW.
